Lizz Ortolani, LMSW
Lizz Ortolani is the Chair of the Shepherd Home Board of Directors and co-chairs the Community and Public Relations Committeee.

Lizz is a social worker with 15 years experience working in various healthcare settings, including oncology, hospice, brain injury, and HIV/AIDS. She has served on several nonprofit boards of directors, leading organizations through change and growth, with a comittment to mission-based management. Her other board experience includes the Hickok Center for Brain Injury, National Association of Social Workers-NYS Chapter, and the Rochester Area Task Force on AIDS.

She currently works with small businesses to provide employee benefit solutions. In addition, she provides community integration counseling to adult survivors of brain injury and is an adjunct instructor in the social work program at SUNY Brockport.

When I started my employee benefit company, I wanted an opportunity to give back to my community and use the nonprofit management skills that I had developed over the years. Having started my career in hospice as a young medical social worker, joining the Board at Shepherd Home feels like a return to my professional roots.

It is an honor to join such a committed group of volunteers at the Shepherd Home.
