Why I volunteer for the Shepherd Home
I have been aware of the hospice philosophy for several years and believe strongly that we should make the dying process as natural and pain free and possible.  It is an incredibly spiritual time, meant to be spent in a caring atmosphere where family can connect and bid their loved one goodbye.  Shepherd Home has fulfilled its mission to the dying wonderfully, and I'm honored to be part of the team.  Although I have yet to do "hands-on" volunteering, I offer my administrative and financial skills as best I can, and recently have chaired the Annual Fund Drive.  Working with so many compassionate people has been a blessing in my life and I hope to continue to be involved for years to come.
